← SONAR CAGE DESIGN
During my college years I got to intern at Duro UAS, an underwater drone startup looking for streamlined methods of fabrication in the marine tech industry.
The original 3D printed ABS plastic cage Duro UAS designed to protect the sonar broke during pool testing.
This piece was vital to making sure that the expensive sonar did not receive damage when the AUV was transported or operating.
I was tasked with coming up with a new and improved design and printing it using the Formlabs Form 3 3D resin printer.
The new sonar cage I designed which is still in use and reproduced by Duro UAS.
